Amperage Upgrade

The decision to upgrade amperage depends on whether the existing 100 amp circuit breaker panel is full, and the kind of equipment and appliances that are currently used or will be used in the future. If there are no “electricity hogs” such as hot water tank, dryer, range, electric heat the 100 amp service will be adequate. However, if one or more appliances use 220 volt electricity – it may be wise to upgrade the service system from 100 to 200 amps.
